Is it worth it to replace the engine in my 1997 dodge dakota?

I have a 1997 dodge dakota 2WD, extended cab with a 5.2L engine. It currently has 263,000 miles on the body and engine. I'm beginning to leak oil on the ground when I'm stopped from a leak that is around the rear main seal. The thing still runs well with minor problems (cruise control no longer working mostly.) I'd like to replace the engine with a 5.2 L that has few miles (less than 50K) and keep it running for another 2 years. Is this possible? I know it's definitely not a great investment but I don't want car payments and can't afford to buy one outright. I think that $2K to replace the engine would be a small price to pay considering $2K wouldn't buy a new car worth having.

How do I correct this behavior?

My pup is a German Shepherd Golden Retriever mix. She's 11 years old, and will be turning 12 in September, so age is a factor. She has had a recent vet visit and is perfectly healthy and impressed the vet for her age. My husband and I decided a few months ago that she could no longer sleep in the same room with us. There are a few reasons behind this decision, such as sleep disturbances (she wakes and pesters when we stir in the night) and a baby on the way. We don't want her to knock over the bassinet or disturb the baby or us any more than we will already be. She is allowed in the room when we are awake, but when it's time to go to bed we escort her out of the room. At first, she tolerated this, then she would grump and not move at first. After about a month she started outright refusing to leave the room at all when she knows what's up. Now she growls and snaps and makes a big fuss, almost to the biting stage. Needless to say, I am concerned. She has a bed that she never uses, that we use to store her toys. She has not accepted the bed and her things being moved to the room next to us to show her a new "space" for her to be at night. She sleeps in the hallway outside the door and shows pretty extreme (for her: normally a VERY docile doggy) "resting place aggression." Our best nights are when we've spent the evening in other places in the house and go to bed late and don't invite her in at all, but it can't be that way every day! There will be times when "family time" is in the bedroom, and bedtime, she's not allowed to stay for. We've tried cajoling her, begging her, tricking her, enticing her, but there's nothing she wants more than to stay in the bedroom. I've tried giving her some time to get used to this arrangement, since she has had that sleeping space for 4 years now. I decided to move her soon after we found out about the pregnancy because I didn't want her to associate the baby with her being kicked out. Time is getting short though and I'm running out of ideas. Help!

USMC MOS selection question?

I'm thinking of enlisting in about a year or so and was wondering if I can get 0311 in a contract rather than 03xx. I just want to know if I go into a recruiting office and talk to the recruiter about taking the ASVAB. Once I get my score in the ASVAB I want to know if I can just outright tell the recruiter I want the MOS 0311. I've been told the recruiters will try and sign you for other MOS's so I should just walk into the office and demand the MOS I want as long as I'm qualified for it. Since I don't think I'll have a problem scoring atleast 80 on the ASVAB should and can I just tell the recruiter I will not enlist unless I am 100% guaranteed the 0311 MOS?

I can see no reason why this should not be possible. You would need a lens with a very long focal length, and that might be a difficulty. Also, the image would be very large on account of the great focal length, and, being large, would also be quite faint, but that might not be a problem in the darkness of a cave.

I know how difficult it can be to remain neutral in the midst of other peoples family feuds. Just do your best to remain neutral and stay out of it. If he insists on being this way and refuses to let her have contact with the baby, then you should probably stay out of that too. I think that his anger will eventually diffuse, and you'll be able to talk some sense into him - but you have to wait until he's obviously ready to listen to some logic, or else he'll just end up getting mad at you too. If the sister tries to contact you, let her know that your trying your best to remain neutral in the situation, and how difficult it is for you to do that. Make it clear that this is not your doing, you're not backing it, and that it's not your decision to make. Hopefully she'll understand and empathize with the position you've been put in. Whatever you do though, always keep it in the back of your mind that you are going to have a relationship with his family for the rest of your life.

K, I'm not a homophobe. Seems like the gay marriage issue has been in the news a lot more in the past few years. I have a strict policy with myself that I do not take a stand on any political or social issue until I feel like I understand it. I won't accept the Lady Gaga answer of "I was born this way", if homosexuals are born this way, why? Maybe some are born with it, and maybe others develop it later in life, I don't know, I'm completely in the blank on the issue. Honestly, I doubt there is anybody who really understands what it is. The thing that confuses me about homosexuality is its place in the world from an evolutionary perspective. I know homosexuality has been observed in several species, but if a species adapts over time to increase its likelihood of reproducing (some of those adaptations being quite subtle) why would so many individuals outright reject reproduction altogether, and mate with the same sex? Isn't that counterproductive to the biological purpose of life? I'm not trying to argue against homosexuality, I'm just writing down my thoughts and hoping someone can enlighten me. I know it is frowned upon to suggest that homosexuality could be a disorder, but if it is natural, as the gay rights groups suggest, what is its evolutionary role?

Can sperm soak through clothing?

This only concerns educational purposes. I have red many conflicting reports, some saying that it dies quickly, and some saying it is totally possible, but i am referring to the situation where a person wearing normal, everyday clothes, sits on an amount of sperm, is there any chance that it would be able to soak through? I've tried icall for your desktop. Worked the first day but that's it. Even then it conflicted with other programs I have on my computer so I had to uninstall it. Avalon Code Tornaq Caverns Help?

I have been playing this and while most of the other rooms were stupid easy, I can't get past room 15. This is the room where you must light both torches at the same time, but they go out after a couple seconds. It was pretty obvious that you had to smash open the ice with a fire weapon, place a charged bomb, run to the other one, and use your fire weapon on it while setting off the bomb. The only problem is I can't get the bomb to start the fire. I can't get it exactly on the torch it is always next to it is this why?

How to deal with rude people?

hi i had this conversation with this guy, who is an art major at university. anyway, during the conversation, he bring up the subject of the book crime and punishment, and i sort said " that book is definitely a classic, but i have to admit, i never get to finished it as for me personally, i found the story a little weigh down by all the details' immediately this guy begin to act like an obnoxious arrogant jerk, and said something like "it a such complex work, there is entire floor in the general library devoted to discussing this book" at which point, i responded curtly " oh really, and which floor would that be?" ( we both study at the same university). anyway, after that i tried to move the topic away to something else , as i dont want to get into an unnessary argument over something so stupid. however, doesnt matter which topic i tried to talk about, he just keep making outright rude , condecending comments. in the end, i just said to him " actually, i just remember i got something important i need to do, i'll catch you later" and walked off. after that conversation, everytime we met at mutual friends place ( we share alot mutual friends, so it impossible for me to not run into this jerk), he always tried to turn conversation into a debate and use it as chance to make condecending comment about my outlook, i actually lose my cool a couple times, and i am wondering if anyone has any good advice on to deal with this type jerk in a assertive but somewhat more diplomatic way.

For those of you who don't know what these are, they are small comic book type tracts that teach about sin and the destruction sin brings and also they teach the way to salvation with the sinnner's prayer. So hard for our community?

So I'm bi. Closeted except for like 9 people. My moms EXTREMELY homophobic. I've been watching some It Gets Better videos. I see the people talking about how hard it was for them. How torturous. And how they wanted to die. Maybe its just my community, but being Bisexual isn't anything to deal with for me its just my romantic attraction, so what? 15, btw. I mean one of the most popular guys from our Class of '11 is openly gay. I mean other than any bullying that may take place in someone life, I don't see the issue. Okay so I am not really supporting any side, I am apolitical or neutral basically but this question has been making me wonder lately. Should we buy his brother's house rather than be a co-signer?

My husband's brother is separating from his girlfriend, and needs to refinance the mortgage to get it in his name only. I'm assuming that this also to take her name off the title. The problem is he does not qualify for the refinance alone. I'm not sure if it was because of credit or declared income. He does make enough to pay the mortgage and has done so for the past 5 years. She never contributed. I think he would like us to co-sign the loan, but I know that this would make us entirely liable for the home. I don't think I want to put my credit, and financial future in his hands. Besides, by co-signing the loan we are saying that we can afford to make those mortgage payments ourselves. If this is the case, why shouldn't we just buy the house outright, and then he can pay us rent. Would it be better to buy it outright and rent it to him, or co-sign with the understand that if he defaults then we gain entire possession of the house so that we can sell it to pay the debt?

I can't remember title or author. It was about a princess whose brother is away at war against the gnomes when the castle is attacked so she runs away to warn him. [Let me say sorry this is so long but i feel its all necessary] I have been in a relationship for about three years now with a young lady with a now three year old, and i have let my moral compass go haywire to make thins work. In either case, i'm conflicted because it looks as though i may be waivering in my resolve, especially as she is trying to manipulate me into staying with her and staying more or less the same - when im telling her that there are things we've entertained in the duration of our relationship that in God's eyes are sinful and displeasing to him and that for "us" to work she also must be 100% willing to give up these things and habits as well, to walk with me and not resist for comfort etc. I know she may be scared, but she wont admit it if she is, shes very distant on the issue and very non-responsive, non-sharing of how she really feels and what she really thinks, and just acting like im treating her badly when im trying to tell her to walk with me or let me go. In order to get from San Antonio to Sacramento and stop in L.A. on the way, you don't have time to see much else in 6 days. If you want to see some more nature sites (like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, etc.), you would have to leave L.A out of the picture. Draw a line on a map from Texas to Sacramento. It does not go through L.A. Going there is going out of your way, and you will have to trade extra driving for extra sightseeing.

Everyone at work hates me?

I just started a new job about a couple weeks ago. I'm in college so I feel I'm lucky to have a job again (didn't for a semester & depleted my savings.) I'm a very nice person, I don't say anything bad about anyone and I'm very kind to absolutely everyone that I meet. But, for some reason at this new job, everyone hates me. Anyways, they may not have felt that you were the right fit and just lied to you to avoid conflict (especially if she texted you, which is extremely unprofessional and sounds like she was avoiding talking to you directly). Maybe call them and tell the manager that you saw that the position was still open and would like to know why you weren't considered. That way, you can have a reference for improvement. Don't get too stressed out. In the long wrong, maybe that isn't the company for you, since they can't even take the time to write a letter or call you back. When I say I can't stand men, I only mean when it comes to relationships or and romance. I don't know one man who hasn't cheated or used the women they were with, which I'm not even saying is outright terrible, the women probably knew, but I just don't want anything to do with it. It's just how men are. Even when they really do seem to love them at first they always end up treating the girls like less than a person. This IS JUST ROMANTICALLY. I have plenty of friends that are guys, and we treat each other as complete equals. I just see it separately. Who a man is when he's not trying to get any is different. I've had a couple relationships before my dislike of the way men do things came around. The problem is is that I am extremely attracted physically. Well I work at a local grocery store in a rural Missouri town and almost all of the customers (maybe 85%) are just outright rude and immature. Buying a car cash - can I take a loan out on it?

I am buying a car on eBay. I have went and looked at the car with my mechanic, and I am getting it for thousands less than it is worth. This is a great deal, and I can't pass it up, so I am borrowing the cash from my father, and repaying him with money I have in stocks, although it takes a few weeks for me to get the check from my stocks. And I really would rather not take the money out of my stocks if I can get a loan out on it. It is a private sale, so I can not get financing from the current owner. Here's my question: can I buy the car cash, then take out a secured loan from a bank since I will technically own the car outright to pay back my father.

There's this guy who I barely know who keeps sending me facebook messages. He's in my science class and we'd never even talked before he started sending these messages a few months ago. At first he was okay, just trying to have a nice conversation, but then he asked for my number. I didn't want to give it to him but I did anyway just to be polite. Now he texts and messages me pretty much non-stop, stares at me in lessons and bugs me to meet up with him all the time. I tried to change the subject and let him know that I didn't like him saying that, but he didn't get it and just carried on.
